What Is Ideal Protein?

Ideal Protein is a medically designed weight loss protocol that promotes rapid weight loss and long-term success. This 4-phase protocol helps stabilize the pancreas and blood sugar level while burning fat and maintaining muscle. In order to lose weight effectively, the pancreas must work efficiently. This means limiting carbs, fats, and sugars, and eating the right amount of lean protein. The Ideal Protein protocol pushes your body into ketosis, a fat-burning stage.

This 4-phase protocol varies in length of time for different clients. During the first two phases, dieters eat Ideal Protein products, lean protein, and vegetables. Weight Loss Management: A Fresh Approach

Dr. Alok Kalia, a renowned physician specializing in personalized, real life weight loss management solutions is coming to Baudry Therapy Center on Tuesday October 4, 2011 from 4:30-8PM.

Most diets focus only on food. They ignore the other important player – the body! But the body’s response is important, and this response differs from person to person and from week to week. In this workshop, Dr. Kalia shows why long-term weight management can only be achieved by understanding the body and treating it as an equal player.

Dr. Kalia begins by taking the audience for a guided tour inside the body. What are the types of hunger? Why can’t we resist eating certain foods in spite of knowing better? How, and why, does the body make fat? Why does weight loss slow down after the first couple of weeks? Why is occasional “cheating” so helpful in maintaining long-term weight loss?

Next, Dr. Kalia converts this information into commitments and actions. What should your weight loss goal be, and why? What are some easy techniques for selecting the right foods? How should you eat a meal so that you know when to stop without being hungry? How can you gauge the proper amount of exercise?

The final part of the workshop is a training program. Participants are provided with a workbook and detailed shopping lists, menus, and recipes for the next two weeks. The program guides you in changing your eating habits while you listen to the feedback from your body. The goal is to make you your own expert!

Led by physical therapist and tennis professional Kevin Dessauer, Tennis FIT provides specific training to help you with all aspects of the game. You will learn how to improve footwork and quickness, develop core strength and stability, prevent injury, and maximize your athletic ability.

10 Week Tennis Training – Strength & Conditioning Program

We are excited to hold a 10 Week Tennis Strength & Conditioning Program at Baudry Therapy Center this fall.  This program is geared toward high school players striving to advance to the next level, boys and girls age 13-18. The program will focus on the physical aspects of tennis, with tennis-specific drills and lifts.

Players will focus on enhancing tennis performance by optimizing reaction time and explosiveness, improving footwork and quickness, developing core strength and stability, preventing injury, and maximizing each player’s athletic ability.  This program is safe for all ages. The drills and lifts are designed to mimic the functional movements of tennis. The Program Director is Kevin P. Dessauer, Physical Therapist and Member of the LSU Tennis Team (2003-2008).

Sessions will be held Wednesday nights, September 14-November 16. Two sessions are available, 6-7PM or 7-8PM. Please contact our office to reserve your spot today. We will email you a registration form and waiver. Players may bring their signed waiver form and check for $150, payable to Baudry Therapy Center, on the first day.
